Persons with access and functional needs have special requirements to plan for and recover from a disaster. NCDMPH is pleased to present the first in a series of videos that explores how various communities can work together to meet the needs of those with special access and functional needs. This population includes people with disabilities, those who live in institutionalized settings, the elderly, children, people with limited English and proficiency/non-English speakers, and those who are transportation-disadvantaged.

It documents the relationship established by the members of Oklahoma’s State Emergency Preparedness and Response Services and the state’s Department of Rehabilitation Services, Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. Future videos on the topic will be posted in the near future.
